The name Guyton has been synomonous in the fishing industry for over 20 years. The business was founded by Arthur Guyton in and subsequently operated by Arthurs son Kevin & his wife Lyn up until recently.
The landmark Gutyon's fresh fish store on the Nelson waterfront has been operating since 2002 and today remains an iconic Nelson business. A very successful second store was opened in the Richmond Mall, Nelson in 2006.
The key to Guyton's success over the years is Fresh, Range, and Expertise.
Guyton's supplies the freshest fish due to its superb access and daily purchase of a huge variety of species of fish. Super fresh fish is the lifeblood of Guyton's success.
It is not uncommon to have over 20 species of fresh white fish in our shops on a daily basis. Often this includes species that will be new to many customers or are not commonly seen in other shops. In addition we stock fresh salmon, tuna, smoked fish and mussels and a huge range of frozen products such as prawns, shrimps & squid. In season whitebait, crayfish, muttonbirds, scallops, and oysters will be found. You know that when you come to Guyton's, there will be plenty of choice!
Guytons staff know their fish. Because we purchase whole fish daily and have our own filleters....Guyton's lives and breathes fish. We will assist you to learn about the many various species, their taste and cooking characteristics.
